Iranian goods reach Russia by sea

In its latest program, the Trade Development Organization officially launched six regular sea lines for the transportation of Iranian goods in the Caspian Sea.

According to ISNA, in recent weeks, due to the rise of some political disagreement with Azerbaijan and the problems that have arisen for some Iranian truckers in this country, the head of the Trade Development Organization announced that with a new plan, Iran from Two routes are trying to transfer their goods without the need for Azerbaijan.

One of these routes, which will be finalized on land, will connect Iran through Armenia to Georgia and then Eastern European countries, and  second step will be to use the transit capacity of the Caspian Sea, which has been less used in recent years.

According to a new agreement finalized between the Trade Development Organization and the Shipping Companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iranian goods will now be able to be exported to countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan via six sea routes.

Alireza Peymanpak – Head of Trade Development Organization – Referring to the serious determination of the government and responsible agencies in removing export barriers and problems, He said: Trade Development Organization of Iran is ready to solve problems related to exports and exporters, including issues related to export infrastructure with high priority.

Referring to the importance of the large Eurasian market for Iran and export capacity to countries in the region, He Added: “Shipping By sea can solve many infrastructural problems of exporters in exports to Eurasia, especially the large Russian market, and this memorandum has been concluded in this regard.” .

It is worth mentioning that according to the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of regular sea lines in the Caspian Sea basin between the Trade Development Organization of Iran and the Shipping Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the first phase, six regular lines from the northern ports of Iran to Astrakhan and Makhach Qala. Kazakhstan has been in operation since November, and the Caspian Shipping Company, on behalf of the Shipping Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will carry out export goods on a regular and monthly basis.

He points out that in line with the measures taken, in the second phase by the end of this year, the number of these lines will increase to eight, while planning to establish regular lines for the Persian Gulf countries as well as African countries is underway and coordinated by the Ministry The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ports and Maritime Organization will facilitate the purchase of rover ships.
